GoBone is a cool chewable smart dоg toy thаt саn bе рrоgrаmmеd uѕing their mobile app to whееl around thе hоuѕе tо entertain your dog. We use “chewable” as a relative term. This toy is designed to be soft enough for a dog to pick up in it’s mouth and extract treats. It’s not designed for aggressive chewing. Once your dog has enjoyed drooling, chasing, and licking all over the device, both thе ѕhеll and whееlѕ аrе removable fоr еаѕу wаѕhing. The exterior iѕ mаdе with FDA approved food-grade materials so it iѕ safe fоr your рuр.
The device itself is just over ten inches long (10.1 x 3.64 x 5.8 in) and weighs a pound. A medium size dog will be able to pick it up easily. Unless your dog is a dainty shy pup, t’s realistic to think that you’re probably going to need to replace the exterior at least once or more during the lifetime of this toy.
- Safety and Durability. GoBone is made of durable, FDA food-grade materials. Food grade is important since your dog is definitely going to put this chewable smart dog to into it’s mouth.
- Good Battery Life. GoBone’s rechargeable battery lasts eight hours in Auto Play and 30 minutes in Freestyle (manual) Play. If your dog likes to put things in his mouth (although what dog doesn’t?), GoBone is a good choice. If your dog likes bone shaped toys, you should also check out the Wickedbone smart dog bone toy. However, you’ll find that the GoBone is easer for a dog to carry in it’s mouth. That said, if your dog is an extrememly aggressive chewer, you may not want to tempt them with this toy when you are not around to supervise.

One of the features GoBone doesn’t have is the abiliy to play with your puppy from other places. There is no camera on the smart dog bone toy itself so although it’s autonomous, it’s not truly interactive. Safety is a concern for heavy chewers so take care when leaving treats in it while you are out of the house.
The GoBone is a great way to bring out a dog’s true personality. I’ve been involved with several recently-adopted dogs from local animal shelters that were reclusive or withdrawn. Since interacting with the GoBone, they’ve become entirely different dogs. It’s like any other game that you can play from your smartphone, but in a way that makes your dog happy and allows you to offer her exercising opportunities without requiring any effort from you or even expensive dog sitting or dog walking services .

As of February 2019, the list price for GoBone on their website was $199. That’s a lot more than your average dog chew toy, but not out of line with other interactive dog toys. The replacement casing/wheels cost $49.99.
